Until I find the camera the Kellie took Christmas morning
This is the group Voice Male. If you have never heard them or heard of them, you should either go purchase one of their two Christmas cd's or make sure you get tickets for the concert next year. What an absolutely great concert! Seriously. If they would have sang more Christmas songs than their kiddie stuff I would have absolutely loved it... but nevertheless it was still wonderful!
It sure seems like a lot of sickness is floating around out there... and I have been lucky enough to steer clear of most of it.... that is until now anyway.

I remember ten years ago dad wanting to get the family together on Thanksgiving Day and no one giving in to help him with his desire. I still remember mom coming downstairs to wake me up early saying the hospital had called and we needed to get there quick. We didnt get there quick enough as dad had already passed away by the time we got there. Phone calls were made and even though it took a good portion of the day to accomplish it... dad got his wish ~those of us in Utah together for Thanksgiving... even if it was sitting in a hospital room rather than around a dinner table. We miss you dad! And yes, we still try to get together.
We had yet another sisters outing

Since Relief Society is my life these days I thought I should post
We started our first monthly "sisters" breakfast this morning at Granny Annie's in Kaysville. With jobs, kids, callings and just life in general we thought it would be nice to find some extra "sisters" time. We hope that Denise will get to join us from time to time. Thanks for humoring me with a blog picture!
This past weekend I spent some good quality time with a new friend. My friend needed to go somewhere she didnt really want to go and especially not alone. I was happy to join her... even looking forward to the thought of seeing her outside her comfort zone and gettting to know a bit more of the real her.
As you can tell I haven't posted much in Aug... so I thought I would share a little bit about how come. In July I was sustained as the Secretary in the newly called RS Presidency in my new ward. Yup, did you catch that... I'm the newby and I'm in charge of taking roll. You gotta love it! I hate to think of how many times I've asked the same people what their name is again... but I can honestly say I now have a pretty good grasp of about 90% of the womens name in the ward. Now who they're married to is a different story... hopefully that will come with more time. This is a picture of the business card I created for our new presidency. The president (I won't name names... but you can look and see) is a bit camera shy, so hopefully down the road a bit I can post a photo of the four of us. I have so enjoyed the past 7 weeks of getting to know the ladies in the presidency, visiting the active and the not so active, learning a ton of names and getting to put them with faces, canvasing the ward with fliers, our enrichment night progressive dinner, creating reports, typing up Sunday bulletins and of course calling people I hardly know to give prayers. Except for the prayer part... I hope my calling never ends. Did I mention I knew this was going to be my calling??
I took a day away from the office today and played a little golf in the annual IREM golf tournament. It was such a nice day weather wise and playing wise. I did so bad the last time I played with my brother, Steve, that I forced myself to go out and spend some much needed time at the driving range. Thank you SJO for joining me... you made it so much more fun!

Here is the finished puzzle I just put together! I think it's the first one I have ever done all by myself. I honestly didn't know if I could do it without help... but I did! It was so relaxing to do... yes, even when it took days sometimes to find one specific piece. I found it to be a total time stealer however. I would walk by it and think "oh, I'll just put one piece in before I go to work today" and the next thing I knew 30 minutes had gone by. Aagghh. Next step is bringing myself to take it apart after all the time it took to put together. That's gonna take awhile.
...and we're stopping. Ha, ha. If you have ever seen the show "Dave" then you will understand my laughter. Great show btw if you have never seen it. I highly recommend it.

How can one sit and think so fast
Of things to put in writing
Especially things I want to last
When all my thoughts are hiding
I feel the numbness all go out
The rush of blood so cold
My feelings start to fly about
And a poem I start to mold
