What a difference a day makes

Today is a note worthy day for several reasons!

1- June 22, 1996 - I got my first and ONLY ticket on my way to deliver cookies to a dear friend for his birthday! 2- June 22, 1998 - I started back working for Horizon in the accounting dept after the mission. 3- June 22, 2007 - my last day in the accounting dept before I started back doing payroll with Susan (truly the best decision for me). 4- June 22 - every year marks the birthday of a dear friend! ilyamtae!

Sister's Lunch

We had our monthly sister's lunch today at the Wingers in Kaysville today. I brought my camera to work to take our photos and then promptly forgot to bring it when we left for lunch... and since Susan hates to be in front of a camera she would not turn around to get it. Grrr. Anyway, three of us (not five) enjoyed the yummy food of Wingers (that is after our waitress got two of the three orders correct) and some good laughs together. We missed you Kathee and Denise. Heather I really hope you come join us one time... or more if you like!!

Reunion time

Family Reunion!
We had our annual family reunion June 11th-12th. This year we stayed close by so that more family could join us for more activities! Thursdays rain did not deter us! We started out at Classic Fun Center in Layton, moved to a park just west of Wal-Mart for dinner (not a soul in sight but us due to the rain... you gotta love that), birthday celebrations, volleyball, horseshoes and pictures. I attempted to pitch horseshoes but with the pain in my right arm that only lasted for one pitch... I LOVE to play so I made the lefty attempt. Pretty pathetic if I say so myself. I was not any competition for James. So sorry. The next day we started with a yummy breakfast held at James and Judys house, then most everyone headed off to go swimming at the Clearfield Aquatic Center while I went to help with a funeral luncheon in my ward. We met up later at the Pavilion across from our house for more food and getting better acquainted. All in all I would say it was a great sucess... however there were many not able to come... but we so enjoyed all those who could. Cant wait to see what John and family come up with for next year!!

Road trip!

I suppose many of you might say we have played a lot lately. But sometimes I suppose you just need to play. Our road trip came about mostly because May has a 5th Sunday where we did not have to be in charge. That does not happen often, so we took off Friday morning. We headed towards Bear Lake where we stopped for breakfast. We then enjoyed the sites and photo opportunities on our way to Jackson Hole. Next we traveled over the mountain through Newdale (beautiful farm land) into Rexburg. We saw what was left of the Teton Dam and enjoyed a great pizza and pasta buffet for dinner. Saturday started out at the Rexburg Temple and then off to the Twin Falls Temple, Shoshone Falls and then back to Pocatello for the night. Sunday we traveled through Mink Creek into Arbon (again beautiful farming land) where we went to church with some good people Steph used to live among back in the 80's. After church and some good visits it was time to head home. I wish we would have kept track of all the miles we covered in our three days. As much as my rear end was tired of sitting... I sure did not want our trip to end. Here are a few pics from the trip.

We assume this is Pochahontas... way cool.
Almost into Idaho... notice the brick pillar still says Utah
So many beautiful fields...

Burger Stop

Cherisa, Sarah and Tristan were staying with Kathee for a few days so we all met up for lunch at Burger Stop (Susan and I brought yummy Subway!) and enjoyed being together for a bit. What a cute little guy Tristan is! It was great to spend time with Cherisa and Sarah... come back soon!

We enjoyed a great few days in San Antonio! We worried that the weather would not hold and allow us to do our zip line adventure... but it did. And we did it! Way to go Steph! It was 92-95 degrees everyday.... gratefully the wind blows a little breeze every now and again. The River walk was awesome with lots of shops and places to eat and a very comfortable walk or boat ride. We saw the Alamo, some missions, the San Antonio Temple (only from the outside as it was closed for cleaning), Steph's brother Rod and family, the Japanese Tea Gardens and lots and lots of rain on the day we flew out. It gave a bran new meaning to "when it rains... it pours"! So crazy. Now to plan our next adventure! Any good ideas?

Birthday gals

Happy Birthday Emily, Reba and Amy!
I have shared my birthday with these two cute gals for 28 years now! Can you guess how old they are? Does that give you any hint as to how old I turned? Ha! The day started early with Amy and Randy blessing their newest little one, Alice! Then after a quick pic I headed off to hear Elder Richard G Scott speak. What a great gift to myself. He is such a tender hearted man. Then I was off to my own ward meetings, followed by a visit with a bosom friend to exchange birthday gifts with a celebrating woman's day gift and last , but not least, dinner with lots of family and yummy food! What a great day to celebrate!

NO Planting....

Susan, Denise and I decided today was a great day to visit our parents grave. It was the anniversary of the day our mom passed away and a couple days before Mother's Day, so we went with the intent to dig a small plot around the headstone, plant some favorite flowers and somehow cement the lions in. Partway into our manual labor a truck drove up and informed us that the cemetery had a "NO PLANTING" ordinance... since Sept 08. Ha. Its too bad he didnt show up sooner. We did our best to put all the grass back into their original spots and at least take a photo of what we had hoped to do. Hopefully mom and dad are pleased with our good intentions. Happy Mother's Day mom... We all love you! You too dad!

3 words 4 U... I Love You!

Don't ask me why this clip doesn't fit in the column like it should... but whether it does or not... it doesn't change how much I love this song!

Sometimes that's all that needs to be said - I love you! And I do.

from a distance...

I heard this song for the first time today. The artists name is Taylor Swift. I love the words much more than the video. It would seem for me that love will always be... from a distance.
